Credit Analyst

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, assessing risk, and making recommendations to support lending decisions while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess credit risk Evaluate loan applications and make recommendations based on risk exposure and financial strength Monitor existing accounts and identify potential credit risks or issues Prepare detailed credit memos and risk assessments for internal stakeholders Maintain and update credit files, ensuring accuracy and completeness Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and sales teams to support decision-making Assist in developing and improving credit policies, procedures, and risk models Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory guidelines Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field 2–5+ years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or lending Strong understanding of financial statements and credit risk principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools Experience with credit systems and reporting tools is a plus Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
