Bilingual Social Worker - Education and Orientation (Mandarin and Cantonese)

Master's Degree: $65,929 - $79,114 Bachelor's Degree: $59,826 - $71,791 GGRC is currently hiring for an Education and Orientation Social Worker who provides enhanced service coordination to persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The incumbent will manage a 1:40 caseload ratio of clients currently served by the Center with low and/or no POS expenditures. Utilizing a Person-Centered approach this position will work to identify barriers in accessing services and supports, enhance the relationship between Client/family and Center, empower individuals to partner with Center and other community agencies, and assist in identification of new resources that are culturally relevant to our community. Responsibilities Write concise, accurate and objective interdisciplinary notes regarding the current status of the clients and related service coordination activities on a regular basis. Enter and maintain TCM/ID notes for each case management activity. Attend all meetings with punctuality. Conduct meetings, interviews, and evaluations; interpret and document data. Visit individuals in their homes, schools and day programs. Understand and utilize sound administrative, case management, and counseling principles. Represent the agency's philosophy, policies, and standards in a professional manner in the community and in the office. Adhere to a reliable work schedule, i.e. punctuality in reporting to work and in using consistent sign-out methods. Record accurately and timely on timesheet and mileage form. Engage in Person-Centered Planning meetings with individuals, families, independent facilitators, and others as needed. Comply with use of agency communication technology, e.g. change voice mail message daily; respond to voice mail and email in a timely manner. Maintain current workload with accurate and complete documentation. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Minimum two years' experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities; regional center experience strongly preferred. Mandarin and Cantonese speaking strongly required. Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the individual's skills and/or the agency's need for specialized skills (such as language abilities). Experience and Skills Knowledge of principles, objectives, techniques of counseling individuals, couples, and groups. Knowledge of human growth and development, dynamics of family relationship. Knowledge of available resources which can be utilized by individuals; ability to identify and utilize generic service organizations. Knowledge of eligibility requirements for generic service organizations. Ability to interview skillfully and interpret the information. Ability to work independently and exercise judgement in making decisions. Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to stimulate cooperation of individuals, their families and community agencies. Ability to maintain case records in a clear and concise manner. Knowledge of developmental disabilities and case management functions. Ability to work with community agencies. Ability to identify individual needs and connect them with available resources. Physical Requirements Travel required and limited generally to the Bay Area. Access to reliable transportation permitting travel to and between many different locations throughout the day in order to perform the outlined responsibilities of the position.
