Part-time lab associate - med lab science

Lab AssociateThe lab associate will work with our senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyze results and report on data findings.Job DutiesPrepare equipment and workspace.Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.Assist in collecting data for accreditation.Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.Monitor laboratory testing with faculty, including immunohematology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology etc.Organize documentation, take notes, record data and results.Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the students.Order, clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies.Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens.Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens.Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results.Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor.Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies.Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace.Research industry trends and advancement.Assists faculty with additional duties as needed.Required QualificationsAssociate degree or higher in medical technology.MLT or MLS certification.Reliable transportation to visit clinical site to pick up specimens.Position closing date: Open Until FilledHillsborough Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe that diversity and inclusion among our applicants and employees is critical to our success as a community partner.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical/mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, and military/veteran status.Preference will also be given to veterans and spouses who are eligible under the Veterans' Preference Law.
