Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney in Shelton, CT, to support its expanding practice across Connecticut. This full-time role offers an opportunity for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys to gain hands-on courtroom experience and make a significant impact in the field of criminal defense. Duties Manage your own caseload. Assist with pre-arrest representation and motor vehicle violation cases. Maintain professional communication with clients using firm systems. Follow protocols for documentation and maintain accurate file notes. Appear in court for arraignments, pretrials, and other proceedings. Draft and file motions as needed. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience. Requirements Must be an active Bar member in good standing. Reside in Connecticut. Willing to travel across Connecticut, including Fairfield or New Haven Counties. Demonstrated adaptability in high-pressure situations. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable working independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided). Comfortable using Macs and legal research tools. 1-20 years of experience preferred; new attorneys will be trained. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Active Bar membership in Connecticut. Skills Adaptability and calm under pressure. Strong organizational skills. Effective communication abilities.
