Job Description

The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in daily operations by handling shipping and receiving activities, operating forklifts, preparing and wrapping pallets, and ensuring finished products are properly labeled and packaged. This position involves a mix of physical labor and equipment operation in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Wrap pallets securely to prepare products for storage and shipment.

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently for approximately half of the workday.

• Label finished products accurately to ensure proper identification and tracking.

• Use RF scanners to track inventory and process orders as needed.

• Handle packaging tasks, including using power and hand tools to prepare products and materials.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.

• Comfort with frequent bending, twisting, and walking, which makes up approximately 50% of the job.

• Ability to operate a forklift safely for approximately 50% of the job.

• Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in packaging operations.

• Experience working in a smaller, growing warehouse or manufacturing environment.

• Comfort working in areas that may become dirty at times.

• Strong attention to detail when labeling and preparing pallets.

• Reliability and flexibility to work extended hours and additional days when required.

Work Environment

The role is based in a smaller but growing operation with approximately 30 employees, located in a newer building completed within the past three years. The shop area can be relatively dirty at times due to the nature of warehouse work. The standard dress code requires jeans and steel-toe boots for safety. Working hours are typically 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with frequent extensions until 5:00 p.m. when needed. Fridays may be mandatory as well, providing a schedule that can include overtime in a physically active warehouse setting using forklifts, RF scanners, and power and hand tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodhue, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
