Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an OR position requiring at least 2 years of experience and current certification.

Hospital operating room setting functioning as scrub person under supervision of the surgeon and RN.

10-12 hour shifts depending on departmental needs.

13-week contract assignment.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program.

Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

State license required if applicable and must be currently active.

Expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.

Ensure the OR environment is safe and equipment functions properly to maximize patient safety during procedures.

Prepare case carts according to preference cards and procure necessary instruments and supplies.

Communicate with OR staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases.

Review daily schedules with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify turnover delays and scheduling issues.

Manage core phone communications and coordinate breaks and lunches with team members.

Serve as a resource for supply and instrumentation procurement across surgical services.

Coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment.

Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered.
