Clinical Requirements Dental Assistants are required to have: A current Minnesota Dental Assistant License Certification to apply dental sealants, gingival cord displacement, and monitor nitrous oxide in Minnesota Current CPR certification obtained through the American Heart Association health care provider course, the American Red Cross professional rescuer course, or an equivalent course Work Schedule 30 hours per week; 8 Saturdays per year.
