Compensation

\n

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $72,570 - $101,921.76. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Quality Assurance? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our US QA department. As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

\n

The Quality Assurance organization provides a variety of services aimed at helping our internal customers, which include S&C leaders and team members, deliver superior quality to our customers. Quality planning, inspection, audit, quality information, quality improvement consulting, and quality communications are examples of the kind of services the organization provides.

\n

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes on the manufacturing floor. This role focuses on implementing quality controls, resolving issues, and collaborating with teams to maintain compliance with standards and specifications.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Quality Control Implementation: Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet required specifications.
\n
• Issue Investigation: Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
\n
• Process Auditing: Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to verify compliance with established standards.
\n
• Customer Escape Containment: Assist in customers escape containment and resolution process by gathering data, analyzing defects, and contributing to corrective actions as part of a team.
\n
• Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction: Participate in cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction and production stop activities by supporting root cause analysis and applying approved corrective measures.
\n
• Documentation Review: Help verify accuracy in prints and acceptance criteria, contributing to defect identification, disposition, and deviation processes while adhering to established quality protocols.
\n
• Quality Support & Collaboration: Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolutions of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventive measures.
\n
• Metrics & Feedback Utilization: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, sharing insights with leaders, partners, and other key stakeholders.
\n
• Team Support: Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
\n
• Industry Trends & Innovation: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, make improvement recommendations to leadership based on new insights.
\n
• Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
\n

Required

What you’ll Need To Succeed:

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
\n
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
\n
• Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in participating in quality improvement projects. Proven ability to support quality problems resolutions.
\n
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
\n
• Some experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
\n
• Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
\n
• Good organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
\n
• Rounded attention to detail with an analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
\n
• Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
\n
• Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles and present compelling information to achieve buy-in.
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.
\n

• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ
\n
• Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field
\n

Environmental and Hazardous Conditions

• Occasionally working indoors/outdoors in an air-conditioned/non-air-conditioned office/manufacturing/site -based environment.
\n
• Infrequently exposure to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/radiation/vibration/grease/oils/radiation/lasers/other etc.
\n
• Occasionally exposed to low/moderate/high noise levels including machinery/vehicles/forklifts/office equipment/office traffic etc.
\n
• Infrequently working around energized equipment with the risk of electrocution/scalding/burns/other etc.
\n
• Infrequently exposed to wet humid/outdoor weather/extreme cold (non-weather)/extreme heat (non-weather) conditions/other etc.
\n
• Infrequently working with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects/other etc.
