Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for surgical patients. The role involves creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment. Pre and post-operative patient education is a key aspect of the position. Nurses will monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical care continuum. Strong skills in vascular surgery and orthopedic surgery are required. This position is primarily circulating, with scrub experience being an advantageous additional skill. The patient population ranges from pediatric to adult. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. The facility boasts multiple operating rooms, with a wide variety of surgical specialties covered, excluding cardiac and ophthalmology. An average of 50 procedures are performed each day. Requested time off during the assignment must be noted upfront; requests after submission will not be approved. The nurse's responsibilities may include being on call, which is approximately once a month if needed. Candidates must provide complete licensure and certifications with their profiles for consideration.
