Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide advanced ECG monitoring and interpretation to assess patient cardiac status, detect arrhythmias, and respond to life-threatening rhythm changes. Perform continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement across various clinical settings.
• Communicate effectively with charge nurses, colleagues, and physicians regarding patient status and findings.
• Enter and verify orders in the electronic health record system accurately.
• Retrieve laboratory and diagnostic results, bringing critical findings to the attention of healthcare team members.
• Ensure all documentation complies with organizational policies and industry standards.
• Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross issued within the past year.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ECG monitoring, strip analysis, and arrhythmia identification.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot monitoring issues and respond effectively to alarms.
• Prior experience in a clinical monitoring or EKG technician role preferred.
