Together we continue to grow as the world’s leading energy company!About the roleThe Retail Gas Portfolio Manager will facilitate and transact all retail commercial and industrial natural gas customer hedge activity, with responsibility for regional customer pricing, associated hedges, portfolio optimization and risk management. This individual will identify optimization opportunities in the portfolio and work with affiliate business units and functional groups to manage energy products for the customer portfolio and deploy innovative solutions that leverage fundamental analysis, advanced analytics and market acumen.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute strategy for market access, price discovery and transaction execution in approved products for bpERC natural gas internal and external clientsHedge and optimize activity around bpERC’s retail natural gas customer portfolioMaintain and provide transactable prices for approved tradable products as well as market information to the bpERC retail pricing and operational functions, sales persons and customersResearch new products and develop strategy to optimize and hedge in bpERC operable marketsSupport and manage forecasted load deviations and exposures in prompt and cash monthsOptimize portfolio assets and obligations such as supply, interstate transport and storageWork closely with bpEC’s wholesale trading desk for price discovery and executionPrice, manage, and book deals consisting of a variety of standard and non-standard productsManage the risk associated with a standard and non-standard product portfolio while adhering to allocated risk limitsIdentify structured supply or customer opportunities and participate in closing transactions when necessaryCollaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to help guide their efforts to provide opportunities that are aligned with trading ideas and geographic locationsBuild and maintain databases as necessaryUnderstand and comply with all internal policies as well as those of CFTC, SEC, FERC, and any other regulatory body or exchangeEssential education, experience and requirementsBachelor’s degree required in business, marketing or quantitative field such as math, statistics, IT, quantitative finance or engineeringMid level experience or comparable skills of energy trading and portfolio management and optimization, retail/wholesale customer pricing and hedgingStrong working knowledge of the C&I retail gas industry and wholesale energy complexHigh level of proficiency in Excel and ability to work within the Endur ETRMAnalytical skills required for pricing, risk assessment and transaction structuringStrong individual contributor with consultative style and aptitude for collaboration and teamworkSkilled at working across multi-disciplinary functions and departments including sales, physical operations and risk managementProficient in collecting, querying, organizing and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and drawing logical conclusionsWhy join bp:At bp, we support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment.
