Requires memorization skills and attention to detail.Reports To: Surgical Services, Director | Surgical Services, Supervisor | Sterile Processing, Supervisor/LeadHourly Rate: $20.65-30.66 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed)Responsible for sterile processing of instruments, equipment and suppliesCollects, cleans, Inspects and reassembles instrument setsKnowledgeable and maintains competency in the cleaning and processing of sterile equipment, supplies and instrumentsReviews operating room schedules, anticipating needs and/or conflicts with instrumentation or equipmentPrepares items for sterilization based on knowledge of sterilization methods required for specific instruments/equipment.Properly identifies and delivers the correct items, in a timely fashion to appropriate areas including OR's, procedure rooms or physician office locations if needed and requested.Prepares packs of supplies, instruments, dressing and treatment trays, according to designated lists or codes, and wraps, labels, and seals packs according to standards.Performs other duties as assigned.Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience. CSPDT or CRCST preferred.Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in a healthcare setting preferredMust be able to see in order to read, write, and perform clerical/secretarial job duties. Must be able to hear and speak in order to communicate with others in person and by telephone. Must have manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard and other usual office equipment. Light to moderate physical effort may be required to lift, push and pull carts.Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
