Advanced Telemetry Monitor Technician (MT) - Part-Time NightsLumber Bridge, NC $35,099 - $46,099 a yearSummary: Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Telemetry Monitor Technician, responsible for continuous cardiac rhythm observation and timely communication of critical alerts. This role supports patient safety and care quality in a busy regional medical center serving the Southeastern United States.Key Responsibilities:Monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry consoles with precision and vigilance.Promptly alert nursing staff to any alarms or significant rhythm changes.Notify nursing assistants or other qualified personnel regarding equipment or reception alarms such as "leads off" or "low battery."Document and print strip assessments every four hours, upon admission, during codes, and as rhythms or rates change.Contribute actively to patient satisfaction, efficient patient throughput, and overall hospital operational capacity.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the telemetry unit.Education and Training:High school diploma or equivalent required.EKG certification preferred.Healthcare experience such as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or previous Monitor Technician experience is advantageous.Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.All new hires must complete a Dysrhythmia class and pass the associated test within 60 days, unless exempted by prior certification or experience. Ongoing advanced dysrhythmia testing is required biannually.Experience:Previous experience as a monitor technician is preferred but not mandatory.Skills and Abilities:Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations.Physical Requirements:Clear speech and auditory acuity for effective communication.Good visual acuity for patient observation.Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials requiring adherence to safety protocols.
