Picker/Packer Job Description

The Picker/Packer is responsible for accurately selecting products from warehouse inventory, preparing orders, and packing items for shipment. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Picker/Packers typically use pick lists, RF scanners, or warehouse systems to locate and verify products.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick products from designated warehouse locations according to customer orders.
• Use RF scanners, pick tickets, or other order-picking systems.
• Verify item numbers, quantities, and product accuracy.
• Inspect products for damage or defects.
• Pack products securely for shipment.
• Label, seal, and prepare cartons or packages for shipping.
• Stage completed orders in designated shipping areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies.
• Assist with stocking and replenishing warehouse locations as needed.
• Meet established productivity and accuracy standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, picking, packing, or distribution experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to use RF scanners or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Must be able to safely perform repetitive picking and packing duties throughout the shift.
