TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Alexandria, Louisiana, 71301!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact required Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required Must-Have: Willingness to float Description: Candidates must be willing to float. Basic medical-surgical unit. 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees are available. Overtime is applicable after 48 hours. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. No call shifts are required. Nurse to patient ratio is 5:1 or 6:1. Electronic Medical Record system used is Epic. Dress code is ceil blue scrubs. The competent nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting expectations of the applicable competencies: leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
