First Assist Registered Nurse (RN)A First Assist Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in the operating room by directly supporting surgeons and the surgical team. This position involves performing essential tasks during surgical procedures, including suturing, providing exposure, and controlling bleeding.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist surgeons during operations, ensuring the procedures run smoothly and efficiently.Perform suturing and manage bleeding as directed by the surgical team.Prepare the operating room before, during, and after surgeries to maintain a sterile environment.Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure patient safety and care.QualificationsCurrent registered nursing license in the state of Kentucky.Credentialing through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA).Completion of accredited training in surgical assisting through a certificate, diploma, or associate degree program.At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with prior travel experience preferred.General InformationThis position will serve as a replacement for permanent staff.
