The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented Metadata Tagger to support content enrichment and discovery operations across our streaming platform ecosystem. This role focuses on applying descriptive metadata — including genres, themes, keywords, and other content descriptors — that help power search, recommendations, and overall user discovery experiences.The ideal candidate has strong analytical and storytelling comprehension skills, experience working with metadata or content operations, and the ability to consistently apply a structured taxonomy to creative works.Responsibilities:Watch and review film, television, and short-form video content to determine accurate descriptor taggingApply metadata descriptors including genres, themes, moods, settings, character attributes, and keywords based on established taxonomies and standardsAnalyze story structure, narrative themes, tone, and “aboutness” of creative works to ensure accurate and nuanced taggingLearn and consistently apply comprehensive controlled vocabulary/taxonomy across all assigned contentEnsure metadata accuracy, consistency, and quality across titles and franchisesResearch and validate metadata where needed to support content discovery and user experienceIdentify ambiguous tagging scenarios and escalate taxonomy or workflow questions appropriatelyWork within CMS and metadata management systems to input, review, and publish metadataMeet operational deadlines, throughput targets, and delivery schedulesCollaborate with editorial, taxonomy, QA, and operations teams to maintain metadata quality standardsBasic Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of related experienceExperience with metadata tagging, content classification, cataloging, or digital media operationsExperience using CMS platforms or metadata management toolsStrong understanding of storytelling, narrative structure, genres, and entertainment mediaAbility to interpret creative intent and identify thematic and contextual elements within contentStrong attention to detail and ability to follow established metadata standards and methodologiesComfortable learning and applying large-scale taxonomies and controlled vocabulariesExcellent organizational, written communication, and issue escalation skillsAbility to work independently while managing deadlines and prioritiesHigh School DiplomaPreferred Qualifications:Background in media studies, library sciences, taxonomy management, film/TV analysis, or entertainment operationsExperience supporting streaming, OTT, publishing, or entertainment platformsFamiliarity with content discovery systems, recommendation ecosystems, or editorial metadataQA or metadata auditing experiencePassion for film, television, and storytelling analysisExperience with: CMS Platforms, Airtable, MS Suite, Google SuiteBachelor's DegreeThe hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $89,000 - $119,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Reference: 10159921
