Project Manager Large Construction & Maintenance I (G06) Salary Grade: G06 – $82,463 – $111,325 – $140,187 Summary: Under direct supervision, plans, develops, coordinates and directs all phases of medium to large‑scale, high‑profile construction projects. Coordinates with internal and external organizations and government agencies to successfully implement project delivery. Assists with the Construction Management Process (CMP) used throughout the company for large construction project delivery. Responsible for project scope, cost, and schedule and for coordinating and managing project requirements to ensure labor and material resources (internal & external) are deployed for timeliness, efficiency and success of project delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with developing, instituting, and improving cross‑functional processes and procedures for project management, work management, and cost estimating. Integrate corporate initiatives such as safety, environmental, reliability improvement programs into the corporate CMP process and procedures for large electric construction projects. Affirm the delivery of large scale construction projects; lead internal and external meetings. Identify, assess, and implement corporate programs related to project management, cost estimation, planning and scheduling, including software and other tools. Forecast, document, verify, and report all variances to management. Compile, chart, and report weekly, monthly, and yearly Project Management Performance Measures to management. Work with management to define, coordinate, and manage project requirements to ensure labor and material resources are deployed for timeliness, efficiency, and success of project delivery. Conduct project performance, cost, scheduling studies, and evaluations that require advanced and innovative project management techniques and/or modifications of standard practices and concepts. May be required to work on special projects and other assigned duties. Competencies: Maintain positive and productive working relationships with individuals and groups. Manage diverse, technical, and complex issues. Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Knowledge of project management, work management, and cost estimating principles. Highly developed problem‑solving and consensus‑building skills. Qualifications: Minimum Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five to seven years of related experience in construction and operations management and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma certification are preferred. Must possess a current, legally valid driver’s license and meet the company’s driving record requirements. Supervisory Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise activities over internal and external staff assigned to projects in a matrix management environment. Communication Skills: Strong negotiation skills and ability to gain concessions without damaging relationships. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Listen effectively and obtain clarification to respond to a wide range of questions. Mathematical Skills: Concepts such as probability and statistical inference; fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry. Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Computer Skills: Strong understanding of project management, cost‑estimating, and work‑management software. Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Analysis and Problem‑Solving Ability: Apply, interpret, and develop concepts using mathematical and engineering expertise; solve practical problems and identify corrective actions to bring projects back in line with schedule and budget. Decision Making: Adapt easily to changing priorities and assist with determining the corporate framework for resource allocation used in projects. Scope and Impact: Impacts corporate ability to complete projects within profitable parameters regarding time and resources within regulatory compliance, including DOT, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, and OSHA. Typically responsible for capital project management in the range of $15 to $20 million. Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk up to one‑third of the time and sit up to two‑thirds of the time. Manual dexterity and good vision required. May occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Work Environment: Office environment. Occasional travel required. Project Manager Large Construction & Maintenance II (G05) Salary Grade: G05 – $94,831 – $128,022 – $161,213 Summary: Under general supervision, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs all phases of medium to large‑scale, high‑profile construction projects. Coordinates with internal and external organizations and government agencies to successfully implement project delivery. Implements the Construction Management Process (CMP) used throughout the company for large construction project delivery. Responsible for project scope, cost, and schedule and for coordinating and managing project requirements to ensure labor and material resources (internal & external) are deployed for timeliness, efficiency, and success of project delivery. Important Requirements: Covered by NERC CIP cyber security standards. Requires successful completion of a Personnel Risk Assessment, cyber security training, and annual cyber security training.
