This role contributes to the broader People Team on department projects and initiatives that positively impact the employee experience.Primary Job Responsibilities:Support employees and leaders across assigned departments and business units to develop HR strategies to support business goalsSuccessfully coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations and serve as primary point of contact for managers on determining resolutions for a wide range of people-related issuesPartner with People team leadership to implement and continuously improve cyclical talent programs including Quarterly Conversations, Talent Reviews, and other talent initiativesPartner with People team leadership to plan and execute PitchBook’s performance management processPartner with the Talent Acquisition team and department leaders on headcount planning to ensure job descriptions, leveling, and compensation are accurate before the recruiting process is initiatedProvide consultative compensation support to leaders to ensure that PitchBook’s compensation strategy is competitive and considers performance and internal equityDiagnose department employee engagement or performance issues and identify solutions to address themConduct investigations in response to employee relations issues and recommend/implement courses of action based on investigation resultsAct as a liaison between department leaders and HR Operations to facilitate employee lifecycle updatesPartner with HRBPs, HR Operations, and other stakeholders to support PitchBook’s mobility and visa processes for domestic and international transfersEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws in all employee-related practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, ADA, and related SOX compliance areasSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviorsParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required. Professional certifications (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, etc.) are a bonus10+ years of progressive responsibility in HR roles including demonstrated competence in HR processes, benefits administration, employee relations, HR data analysis, HR compliance, HR tools, and employee communicationExperience supporting a company or business unit with at least 500 employeesExperience supporting employees and leaders across multiple states and jurisdictions; experience in the UK and Singapore is a plusSuperior knowledge of US employment law including state-specific laws in WA, CA, and NY. Experience with international employment law in the UK and Singapore is a plusProven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills and identify and drive appropriate solutions, translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple, customer-focused, and adaptable to unique and changing business needsDemonstrated success in problem-solving and ownership to resolve issuesAbility to operate independently, using sound judgment to make decisionsProcess-oriented, organized, and metrics-driven with amazing attention to detailExcellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present material to groups in-person and via the phoneAbility to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacyProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
