Location : Glenwood Springs, CO 81601

Project Duration : 13 weeks

Pay range : $70 - $75 per hour

Shift : 12 hour nights + rotating weekends & call rotation.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery (L&D) Travel Charge RN to join our Family Birth Place team. The ideal candidate will have strong labor and delivery experience, leadership skills, and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative maternity care environment.

The department provides comprehensive services, including Labor & Delivery, Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and postpartum care, with a focus on couplet care for mothers and newborns. The unit manages approximately 80 deliveries per month and provides care for infants born at 32 weeks gestation and above.

The successful candidate must be an effective team player committed to evidence-based nursing practices and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period.
• Serve as a Charge RN, supporting daily clinical operations and coordinating patient care activities.
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions and promptly identify and respond to complications.
• Provide care for mothers and newborns, including couplet care.
• ssist with cesarean deliveries and related OR procedures as needed.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Support and guide nursing staff while promoting teamwork and effective communication.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to established clinical standards.
• Promote evidence-based practices, patient safety, and a positive birth experience for patients and families.

Job Requirements
• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery nursing is required.
• Charge RN or nursing leadership experience in an L&D setting is required for this assignment.
• Experience with maternal care, newborn care, and postpartum nursing.
• bility to work 12-hour night shifts and rotating weekends.
• Willingness to participate in the call rotation.
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Required Licensure and Certifications
• Current Colorado RN license or compact RN license valid for practice in Colorado, in good standing.
• BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• CLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
• STABLE - Required.
