Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling; 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period; 48-hour work weeks approved; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

• Join a newly opening Acute Care Surgery and Emergency General Surgery unit at a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 with float opportunities across acute care and medical-surgical units
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• First-time travelers welcome; 13-week contract with potential for extension
• Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system required
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratios preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Proficiency in skills including: blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, IV therapy, and post-operative care
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required (facility does not accept Nursys or background hits)
