About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide strategic vision and leadership for its information technology function. The CIO will be responsible for all aspects of IT, including instructional technology, enterprise information systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance. This cabinet-level position involves serving as the principal advisor on IT matters, driving multi-year technology planning, and ensuring that the IT function aligns with the company's strategic plan. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of public education, exceptional judgment, and the ability to lead a large, distributed technology organization. Key responsibilities for the CIO at the company include setting the direction for technology governance, procurement, and innovation, as well as managing the enterprise application portfolio and overseeing cybersecurity and data governance. The role also involves establishing and maintaining IT standards, expanding data and reporting capabilities, and leading the responsible adoption of emerging technologies. The CIO will be expected to build and lead a high-performing IT team, maintain relationships with external partners, and ensure that technology initiatives support the company's mission and enhance the educational experience for students, families, and staff. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in information technology, particularly in a large, urban school district or similarly complex public organization.
