Senior Municipal Engineer

Job Description Job Description T&M Associates is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Municipal Engineer to join our growing Community and Land Development Market in New Jersey. As a Municipal Engineer at T&M, you will play a key role in designing, managing, and delivering capital improvement projects for a diverse range of municipal clients. Key Responsibilities Prepare engineering documents for advertisement and construction, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for capital improvement projects (e.g., roadways, drainage, sewer, water systems, parks, and athletic fields). Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, independently manage smaller projects, and coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery. Conduct site inspections and assessments of municipal infrastructure to verify compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements. Review Planning & Zoning Board site plans and subdivisions; prepare detailed reports and recommendations. Serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring successful project outcomes. Qualifications: B.S in Civil Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in Municipal Engineering or related field. EIT certification required, PE license preferred. Fluency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required. Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards, and constructability methods. Proficiency in Municipal Land Use Law (MLUL) and Public Contracts Law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, demonstrated organization skills, team player and willingness to learn. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $95,000 - $120,000 . The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
