Counter Sales Associate (Open) – Roseville, MN – Industrial Hourly Pay: $24/hr-$26/hr | Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Job Summary At Airgas, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are hiring a Counter Sales Associate to balance high‑energy customer interaction with operational support in a dynamic industrial environment. The role involves serving customers with industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies, advising on tools, hardware, and materials, and ensuring safety compliance. Responsibilities Adhere to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, fostering long‑term relationships. Accurately complete required paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing. Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures; demonstrate equipment use to build confidence. Manage order entry and process transactions; assist the team with deposit reconciliation. Coordinate via phone, e‑mail, and in person to provide information on costs and delivery. Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support branch growth. Coordinate merchandise transfer between locations to meet customer needs. Maintain a positive work atmosphere through supportive communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stock shelves and maintain showroom displays to enhance customer experience. Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or equivalent education/life experience). Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting. Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus. Attention to detail in handling transactions. Availability for occasional overtime. Ability to operate in a drug‑free workplace. Preferred Qualifications Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies. Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications. Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities. Clear and warm communication with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
