Clinical Educator (RN)

Department: 34208 High Point Medical Center - Nursing Education Employment Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Primarily weekdays; occasional weekends. Pay Range: $41.10 - $61.65 The Clinical Educator coordinates and conducts education for nursing staff, which will enhance quality and safe patient care. They ensure nursing staff within the service line units are educated to assess and identify patient care needs for assigned patients. Education is provided based on unit/patient needs and includes service line academies, skill-based competency, equipment use expertise, and clinical assessment competency. The role collaborates with the Director of Clinical and Life Support Education, Manager of Clinical and Life Support Education, Directors of Nursing, and Nurse Managers to provide learning sessions that enhance staff knowledge and competency in complex patient and family‑centered care. Job Requirements Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required; BSN required Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state BCLS required 3 years of clinical experience in the area of interest is required National certification in specialty preferred; encouraged to obtain within one year of hire Key Responsibilities Teach and demonstrate proficiency in patient physical assessment skills, patient care, and nursing skills (e.g., mobility, respiratory care, nutrition, pain management, oral care, infection prevention, lift equipment use, vital sign monitoring equipment) Reinforce policies and procedures, protocols, and guidelines with nursing staff Coordinate nursing‑centered rounds and bedside reporting with the Nurse Manager/Case Manager, with the ability to phase in multidisciplinary rounds Provide service line–specific unit educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and Nursing Practice Development Specialists in class settings and informal on‑site settings; monitor compliance and attendance rosters Ensure quality of professional services by demonstrating and maintaining competency through knowledge updates and continuing professional growth Communicate effectively, positively, and professionally, role‑modeling behaviors associated with departmental expectations Collaborate with nurse managers, assistant nurse managers, preceptors, and NPDS to design, implement, and evaluate the nursing unit’s orientation and annual needs assessment education plan Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co‑workers, and the facility, including interpreting nurse‑sensitive indicators and developing strategies for performance improvement Support provision of age/developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served Skills & Abilities Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; able to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to think critically, exercise judgment and discretion for problem solving and decision making Ability to prioritize work independently and meet deadlines Positive negotiation and conflict resolution skills Knowledge of policies and procedures Ability to synthesize and prioritize knowledge Ability to tailor teaching to different learning styles Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design Our Commitment To You Compensation Base compensation listed within the pay range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training Premium pay such as shift, on‑call, and more based on role Incentive pay for select positions Opportunity for annual increases based on performance Benefits And More Paid Time Off programs Health and welfare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, and short‑ and long‑term disability Flexible Spending Accounts for eligible health‑care and dependent‑care expenses Family benefits such as adoption assistance and paid parental leave Defined contribution retirement plans with employer match and other financial wellness programs Educational Assistance Program #J-18808-Ljbffr
