Staff Accountant

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia

Salary: 70k to 80k

Summary: The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and be able to handle multiple tasks, while fully assisting the Controller and Finance Department as needed. This position reports directly to the Controller and previous accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable:
• Enter bills
• Assistance with AP entry, switching remaining vendors from system to system, linking QBO BOA to QB to avoid duplicate entry into BOA for payment processing.
• Accounts Receivable:
• Cash application from daily check deposits
• Cash application of daily ACH and wire payments into QBO
• Update of cash receipts to BIGTIME
• Reconciliation of AR QB to BIGTIME
• Accounts Receivable Collections:
• Touch base with all open AR mid-month (16th through the 25th)
• Invoice Escalations:
• Updating for annual escalations, manual process in BIGTIME. Update before monthly invoices.
• Invoice Expenses:
• Send general reminders to all staff to turn expense reports in timely manner
• Process expense reports.
• Input expenses into BIGTIME for invoicing
• New Project Setup:
• Projects will need to be set up as quickly and accurately as possible when new agreements are inked.

Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Able to maintain confidentiality
• Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner

Qualifications:

• 3 or more years' experience in the accounting and finance department, preferably in a midsize firm
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
• Proficient understanding and use of Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance preferred
