Full job description Job Title: Dispatcher/Shop Foreman Location: Sun State Ford Reports To: Service Manager Job Status: Full-time, Exempt Department: Service Job Summary: The Shop Foreman at Sun State Fordplays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the service department. This position is responsible for supervising technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards in vehicle repairs and service. The Shop Foreman is a key member of the service leadership team. Key Responsibilities: Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of automotive technicians and service advisors. Assign work orders and responsibilities to technicians based on their skills and expertise. Monitor technician productivity and efficiency, making adjustments as needed to meet service goals. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. Quality Control: Ensure that all vehicle repairs and maintenance services meet or exceed dealership and manufacturer quality standards. Perform quality checks on completed work to verify accuracy and thoroughness. Address any issues or concerns related to the quality of repairs promptly. Technical Support: Assist technicians in diagnosing complex vehicle issues and provide technical guidance as needed. Stay updated on industry trends, technical service bulletins, and manufacturer recalls. Workflow Management: Prioritize repair orders based on urgency and customer needs. Coordinate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and time frames. Monitor the progress of repair orders to ensure timely completion. Address any delays or issues that may affect service efficiency. Customer Satisfaction: Interact with customers as needed to address questions or concerns related to vehicle service. Strive to provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed in the service department. Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and disposal of hazardous materials. Promote a safe and clean working environment. Training and Development: Identify training needs for technicians and coordinate training programs.
