Take Ownership of Modern Automation in a Clean Shop

If you are an experienced controls technician looking for off-shift autonomy, modern automation, and a clean manufacturing environment, this position is built for you.

We are hiring an Electrical Controls Technician to support fast-paced, high-speed automated production lines on 3rd shift. In this role, you will troubleshoot live equipment, optimize complex control loops, and keep critical manufacturing lines moving—backed by strong leadership without micro-management.

Why Join Our Technical Team?
  • State-of-the-Art Automation: Direct hands-on work with modern PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and high-speed motion control systems.
  • Clean & Climate-Controlled Environment: Work in a clean, modern facility focused on safety, quality, and continuous technology investments.
  • Competitive Compensation: Starting pay rate of $33.00–$38.00/hr, an additional 3rd shift differential, and comprehensive healthcare and retirement benefits.
  • Off-Shift Autonomy: Real ownership of floor troubleshooting during shift operations with supportive engineering resources.
Key Responsibilities
  • Live Line Support: Provide rapid online troubleshooting and real-time response to active production line calls to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Diagnose and repair electrical faults on high-speed equipment, including motors, relays, switches, and sensors.
  • Controls & Drives: Install, troubleshoot, parameterize, and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs), motion control systems, and temperature loops.
  • PLC Diagnostics: Connect to, diagnose, and maintain PLC and HMI control systems using industrial software suites.
  • Schematic Navigation: Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to solve complex systems issues.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Execute and document scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) routines on production machinery.
  • Safety Adherence: Maintain strict compliance with LOTO procedures and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards during all technical tasks.
  • Digital Logging: Track all work orders, repair actions, parts usage, and root-cause findings using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Facilities & Handoffs: Complete plant electrical maintenance tasks during scheduled downtime and communicate shift status clearly to incoming teams and leadership.
What You Bring to the Team Core Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on industrial electrical and controls maintenance experience in a automated manufacturing environment.
  • Practical PLC Skills: Proven ability to connect to PLCs online, monitor ladder logic, and troubleshoot I/O modules to isolate equipment faults.
  • Drive & Motion Control: Hands-on experience installing, adjusting, and repairing AC/DC drives, VFDs, and motion control hardware.
  • Electrical Expertise: Strong capability reading electrical schematics, line diagrams, and technical manuals to solve system failures independently.
  • Safety Credentials: Demonstrated commitment to safety standards, including active LOTO qualification and working knowledge of NFPA 70E.
  • CMMS Proficiency: Comfort using digital work order systems to document repairs, track parts, and log preventive maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley software tools (Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk).
  • Technical Associate Degree (Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology) or completed Electrician Apprenticeship.
Shift & Training Structure
  • Assigned Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
  • Onboarding & Training: Candidates complete initial onboarding on 1st Shift (up to 6 months) to become fully acclimated to equipment, team members, and facility procedures before transitioning permanently to 3rd Shift.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Physical Activity: Ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and tools, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Lifting Demands: Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision Needs: Requires close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and color vision capabilities.
  • Drug & Health Policy: Must satisfy company pre-employment screening policies, including a nicotine-free workplace policy.

Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
