Most educators spend their time battling bureaucracy, drafting lesson plans that never get reviewed, and attending staff meetings that accomplish nothing. At Alpha, academic instruction is handled by software that guides students through coursework at their individual pace, eliminating traditional lectures, assigned homework, and grading papers. This structure lets you focus on facilitating life‑skills workshops that help high school students develop public speaking, concentration, and feedback literacy, while providing one‑on‑one coaching to sustain motivation and achievement of learning objectives. What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills workshops covering subjects such as public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, and measuring competency through structured Test2Pass evaluations. Conducting daily motivational coaching sessions that leverage Coachbot data to engage students individually, identify learning obstacles, and help them overcome barriers. Collaborating with students to develop personalized motivation plans, including reward systems and incentives that encourage autonomous advancement through their academic software. Preparing by reviewing curriculum and session plans beforehand, then adjusting your approach based on how you assess the group dynamic. What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering instruction in academic content areas; math, reading, and all other subjects are taught through software. Taking on school administration or team leadership responsibilities; no budget management, recruitment, or operational planning; your complete attention stays on your student cohort. Enforcing discipline through conventional authoritarian methods; no detention assignments, suspension decisions, or “because I said so” rationales. You rely on reasoning and positive reinforcement to create a respectful, energized learning environment. Student Engagement Specialist Key Responsibilities Develop a cohort of high‑school students who are passionate about school, achieve 2× accelerated learning through adaptive software, and demonstrate mastery of practical life skills. Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree in any subject. 3+ years of experience working directly with high‑school students (ages 13‑18). Willing to work in‑person in Oklahoma City, OK (relocation assistance available). Legal right to work in the U.S. Nice‑to‑have Requirements Experience as a sports coach, summer camp counselor, or youth program coordinator who has inspired teenagers in non‑traditional classroom settings. Demonstrated success guiding groups to achieve quantifiable objectives (completion percentages, performance standards, behavioral improvements). Familiarity with adaptive learning systems or educational technology platforms. Strong narrative skills that capture and hold teenage audiences’ focus, presented with cultural sensitivity and authentic connection.
