Executive Director – Medical Group Responsibilities Leadership Participate with the governing board and shareholder physicians in charting and implementing the organization’s objectives. Inform the board about current trends, problems, and activities in the medical field to facilitate policy making. Provide assistance to management personnel to achieve the organization’s objectives related to staffing, performance, standards, policies, procedures, and compliance with government regulations. Consult with physicians, managers, and staff prior to recommending and establishing new policies. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Maintain a mechanism to continually monitor operations, offices, and physical assets, initiating changes as appropriate. Ensure effective communications with patients, referring physicians, and staff. Serve as liaison and channel of information between the Board and its committees, and the medical staff. Direct and supervise all the organization’s activities through managers and administrative support staff, consult with and advise managers, resolve administrative problems, and keep lines of communication open to ensure good employee morale and a professional atmosphere. Administration Coordinated strategic plans to support the organization’s philosophy and goals. Coordinated long‑range financial development and management. Ensured the provision of medical services by acquiring, utilizing, and organizing resources (Human, Financial, and Physical). Developed improved management techniques and practices. Maintained affiliations and enhanced professional growth and development to stay current in trends in physician practice management and health care administration. Direction Recommended, developed, and updated strategic plans to support the organization’s philosophy and goals. Coordinated the long‑range financial development and management of the organization. Ensured provision of medical services by organizing resources. Developed improved management techniques and practices. Maintained affiliations and enhanced professional growth. Qualifications Education Qualifications: Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree with a health‑care focus. Experience Qualifications: 7years of executive‑level health‑care experience, including 5years of experience in the administration of a medical practice. Demonstrated experience working within a medical foundation model, including operational oversight of employed or contracted providers delivering care across multi‑specialty ambulatory clinics and affiliated hospital sites, with responsibility for managing scheduling, shift allocation, performance oversight, and coordination with hospital operations and physician leadership. Continuous professional development courses in health‑care management. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the operational, regulatory, and financial structures unique to medical foundation arrangements and experience collaborating with hospital partners. Skill in coordinating care delivery, staffing models, and workflow integration for clinicians with dual ambulatory–inpatient responsibilities. Knowledge of the principles and practices of health‑care administration and physician practice management sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operation of a medical group. Knowledge of community health systems and payers, and policies and procedures of a physician practice. Knowledge of principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision‑making to achieve organizational objectives. Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective action. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physician shareholders, the Board of Directors and committees, employees, referring physicians, third‑party payers, patients, and the public. Ability to organize work, make assignments, and achieve goals and objectives. Ability to establish and maintain the organization’s quality control standards and meet deadlines. Licenses and Certifications: None Physical Demands and Work Conditions Constant sitting; frequent walking; occasional standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and crawling; constant hand use with frequent repetitive motion and grasping. Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching (above shoulder level), twisting, and turning (neck and waist). Constant vision with color, peripheral, distance, and focus. Lifting: 0‑10lbs (frequent), 11‑20lbs (occasional), 21‑30lbs (seldom), 31‑40lbs (seldom), 40+lbs (seldom). Carrying: same lifting categories as above. Occasional driving of cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment; may be required to drive a personal vehicle to sites. Exposure to equipment, machinery, and limited exposure to noise, extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, dust, gas, fumes, chemicals, heights, foot controls, and biohazards. Travel Requirements 10% travel. Benefits Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $99.70 – $132.11 per hour. Salary will be determined based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
