Clinical Support Tech I - Acute Burn and Wound Unit

Job Summary Nursing Assistant I + Clerical (Clinical Support Tech I) needed for the Acute Burn and Wound Unit (5 East). The 5 East unit is a 15‑bed acute care unit dedicated to patients with burn injuries and complex wounds, including plastic surgery, diabetic wounds, and pressure ulcers. Position: 36 hours per week, 12‑hour rotating shifts (7:00 am–7:30 pm and 7:00 pm–7:30 am). Eligible for benefit package and paid time off. Responsibilities Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations, procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies. Review patient care documentation for significant changes and report promptly to a registered nurse or physician. Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review and revise orders, answer calls, transcribe orders, maintain records, conduct quality‑assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory. Provide clinical support: clean work area, maintain office equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, change linens, restock supplies, transport patients, supplies, specimens, and orient new employees/students. Deliver personal patient care as outlined in the care plan: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation assistance, vital‑sign monitoring, height and weight measurement, specimen collection, wound care, range‑of‑motion exercises, and postural drainage. Reinforce teaching given by nurses or physicians and document patient understanding; distribute educational materials as requested. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED. Licensure / Certification Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Professional Experience Prior experience not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fluent in verbal and written English. Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.
