About the Position

Job Title: Physician – Psychiatry (Locum Tenens)

Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with potential extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No Call

Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a full-time locum opportunity in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This is a structured weekday role with no call responsibilities, offering a balanced schedule and strong interdisciplinary support.

Work Details

• Practice Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry Unit
• Patient Population: Adults
• Average Daily Census: ~33 patients (provider sees ~8/day)
• Unit Size: 45 beds
• EMR: EPIC

Clinical Scope

• Manage adult patients with conditions such as:
  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Substance Use Disorders
  • Personality Disorders

Support & Environment

• Collaborative team including RNs, Mental Health Clinicians, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Unit Coordinators
• Hospital-based inpatient setting with established workflows

Requirements

• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Active Massachusetts Medical License (required at time of submission)
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred

• Orientation provided
• Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days
• Preference for local or drive-in candidates (travel may be considered)
