What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced, safety-first Community Transport Driver who brings a strong driving record and a patient, service-oriented approach. Whether you have experience in specialized paratransit, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), school transit, or senior living shuttle services, you will be the face of our organization, ensuring our passengers arrive comfortably, safely, and on time.

• Driving Credentials: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL with Passenger endorsement or standard license with clean commercial MVR, depending on vehicle assignment).
• Passenger Care Experience: Prior experience in paratransit, specialized transit, NEMT, or senior transport preferred.
• Mobility Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in operating hydraulic/electric wheelchair lifts, ramps, and standard 4-point securement systems (e.g., Q'Straint, Sure-Lok).
• Communication & Reliability: Punctual, empathetic, and comfortable navigating via GPS tablets while maintaining dispatch contact.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Passenger Transit: Transport ambulatory and mobility-impaired passengers to scheduled medical visits, therapy centers, and community facilities safely and courteously.
• Door-to-Door Passenger Assistance: Assist passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle; operate wheelchair lifts and ensure mobility devices are properly locked with lap/shoulder safety harnesses.
• Vehicle & Safety Inspections: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip walk-arounds (checking fluids, tires, wheelchair lift functionality, safety belts, and interior sanitization); log maintenance reports promptly.
• Route & Schedule Coordination: Follow assigned schedules using on-board mobile dispatch tablets; communicate route deviations or delays with dispatch in real time.
• Emergency Preparedness: Maintain a calm vehicle environment, follow defensive driving principles, and handle passenger assistance situations per company and safety protocols.
