Senior Tax Manager

Carolina PRG has partnered with a growing, privately held company in Charlotte, NC to identify a Tax Manager . This is a high-impact role responsible for building and managing the organization’s tax function as the company continues to bring tax processes in-house. This role offers strong visibility with leadership and the opportunity to shape tax strategies within a growing organization. Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Reporting Prepare & filing of the federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing deadlines. Manage sales and use tax filings across multiple states. Maintain tax compliance calendar. Establish internal controls and documentation. Tax Planning & Strategy Provide guidance on tax implications of business transactions. Identify opportunities for tax savings and process improvements. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting the company. Leadership & Collaboration Manage relationship with organizations tax partners (Big-4 firm). Partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors. Process Improvement Develop and implement policies to strengthen internal controls. Streamline tax processes and leverage technology for efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred. CPA certification. 5+ years of progressive tax experience, including corporate tax compliance. Proficiency with ASC 740 tax accounting & preparation of income tax provisions. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Experience with sales/use tax and multi-state filings.
