B2B Sales Agent and Development Manager for Benefits

Role Description The B2B Sales Agent and Development Manager for Benefits is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with employers, conducting prospecting activities, and managing a sales pipeline of workplace benefits solutions. The role includes meeting with business owners and HR leaders, presenting Colonial Life’s benefits portfolio, and guiding them through plan design, implementation, and ongoing service. The individual will coordinate and support enrollment activities, collaborate with internal teams to address client needs, and track performance metrics to achieve sales and growth targets. Ongoing responsibilities also include building long-term client relationships, providing benefits education, and staying current on industry trends and product offerings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated B2B sales skills, including lead generation, prospecting, and closing new employer accounts.
• Experience in account management and client relationship development, preferably with HR or benefits decision-makers.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities for explaining complex insurance and benefits solutions clearly.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple prospects, client meetings, and enrollment activities.
• Comfort with using CRM tools, productivity software, and enrollment technology platforms to manage sales activities.
• Knowledge of or interest in employee benefits, insurance, or financial protection products; prior industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site with employers in the San Diego, CA area, with reliable transportation for local travel.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High ethical standards and commitment to providing inclusive, respectful service to a diverse client base.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
