Job Description:

Work Schedule: 7a-3:30p, call required.

• Prepares and maintains sterile surgical fields, instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures.

• Assists the surgical team during procedures by scrubbing, gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments and supplies to surgeons.

• Ensures patient safety and compliance by maintaining sterile technique, performing surgical counts accurately, and responding appropriately to emergencies.

• Handles surgical specimens with accuracy and prepares instruments and equipment for terminal sterilization and subsequent procedures.

• Supports efficient operating room turnover by assisting with room cleaning, setup, and preparation for the next patient.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Interpersonal Skills [Required]

• Completion of validation skills [Required]

• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required]

• Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required]

• Knowledge to anticipate critical emergencies of Specialty Call Team [Required]

• Ability to organize, promote, and conduct relevant in-services on unit [Required]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Field of Study:

• N/A

Work Experience:

• 2+ years as certified surgical tech [Preferred]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]

Pay Range:

$22.66 - $42.14
