Field Subcontracts Manager

Date: Jul 6, 2026 Location: Carrollton, GA, US; Cartersville, GA, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies (Black & Veatch Corporation) Job Summary This position is responsible for moderately complex subcontract development and/or administration in support of proposal and/or project requirements within the Subcontracts Group. May be responsible for administering Subcontracts Field Management process. Key Responsibilities Assign moderately complex construction contracts; may lead proposal and/or project subcontract efforts. File appropriate record documents and follow filing rules. Proficient in basic functions of applicable software. Train others on subcontracts processes, as directed. Communicate scope of work to bidders and solicit pricing for given proposals or projects; may lead and coordinate entire pricing effort on non‑major projects. Prepare subcontract related documents and bidder lists; prepare, issue and manage the bidding process. Lead and manage bid evaluation process, including distribution of proposals, bid tab preparation, technical evaluation; make recommendations for selected bidder(s) and award. Lead, schedule, coordinate and manage negotiation process; resolve simple commercial terms and conditions exceptions under oversight. Ensure subcontractor compliance with pre‑qualification requirements. Understand owner’s contract and incorporate appropriate scope‑specific flowdowns into subcontracts under oversight. Run kick‑off and progress meetings; draft/issue meeting minutes. Draft/log formal correspondence for assigned subcontractors. Perform change management duties for assigned subcontracts. Review and process invoices for assigned subcontracts. Close out assigned subcontracts. Participate in resolution/processing of backcharges and claims, as needed. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) in compliance with laws. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma preferred; BA or BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, Technical or related field preferred. Three (3) years of relevant industry experience preferred or equivalent ability. Analytical, organizational, communication, computer (Microsoft suite), initiative, attention to detail, interpersonal, mathematical, problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of construction disciplines, means & methods, equipment. Understanding of commercial terms, conditions, and company processes. Ability to prioritize workflow and adjust as necessary. Basic knowledge of project process management. Work Environment / Physical Demands Normal office/field environment. Sitting, talking, grasping, hearing, keyboard input, seeing and writing. Reaching, kneeling, lifting, stooping, crouching, walking, standing for extended periods. Ability to travel; willingness to relocate. Competencies Manages complexity. Communicates effectively.
