Engineering Operations Technician

A recognized services organization in Washington is seeking a new Engineering Operations Technician for a great opportunity in the Northern Virginia area. This position supports the operation and maintenance of critical mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced data center environment.

• Shift: Day
• Schedule: Rotating 3 to 4 day work weeks
• Hours: 12-hour shifts
• Setting: Data center

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for facility and equipment issues
• Complete limited preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes, battery system PMs, and rack-level component replacements
• Take daily operational readings, support metrics reporting, and complete required documentation
• Use internal CMMS tools, Excel, work authorizations, and work orders to manage workflows and administrative tasks

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Technical training through military or trade school, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience working in a data center or other critical environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid leadership and organizational skills

• Experience with building automation systems
• Familiarity with generators, switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, and VFDs
• Exposure to CMMS platforms and operational reporting tools
