Social Worker for Inpatient Psychiatry Location: College Hill, 5642 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati OH 45224 Schedule: Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat 7:30a-4p (32 hours per week, 0.8 FTE) Job Qualification Requirements: Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Ohio Past experience preferred but not required What you get as a Social Worker at Cincinnati Children's: Base pay starting at $50,602.24 annually as a salaried/exempt employee (.8 FTE), and can increase based on years of experience post MSW $5.00/hour weekend differential added to base pay Benefits begin first day of employment Paid Time Off (PTO) starts to accumulate immediately (approx. 24 days/year for working as .8 FTE). Unused PTO rolls over. Additional PTO associated with promotions. Clinical Advancement Program with potential pay increases associated with meeting the competencies for each level: Social Worker II, Social Worker III/Care Manager Multiple opportunities to receive all your CEU About Inpatient Psychiatry, located at the College Hill Campus The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s acute crisis units focus on stabilizing patients, most of whom stay an average of three to five days. In total, our hospital has 92 inpatient beds available to serve children and adolescents who are 17 years old and younger, who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The units are explained below: Adolescent Unit 4.200 (ages 12-17): Patients with a mental/behavioral disorder Youth Unit 5.400 (ages 8-17) Patients with both a mental/behavioral diagnosis and developmental disability Young Child Unit 5.200 (ages 2-8) Patients who have a mental/behavioral health diagnosis Youth with chronic medical conditions in addition to mental health diagnosis Youth admitted for inpatient treatment can participate in various therapeutic and medical treatment programs depending on their personal needs. Their stay can include group therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and chemical dependency education. About the Division of Social Services At Cincinnati Children’s, our clinical social workers understand that managing any type of illness or hospitalization is a stressful experience. As members on every medical team, the clinical social workers provide ongoing support and counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and connection to community resources. Who We Are The clinical social workers are all licensed professionals who provide specialized expertise on the medical teams. There are over 150 clinical social workers within the Social Service Division at Cincinnati Children’s serving patients and families through their inpatient hospitalization(s) and providing ongoing services in the outpatient settings. What We Do Families and caregivers with children that are coping with a medical and/or psychiatric condition can experience difficulties and hardships that impact their emotional, social, and financial well-being. Families and caregivers may also find challenges as they navigate through the complex medical system. Our clinical social workers provide comprehensive services to assist patients & families through their journey. The clinical social worker can assist with emotional support and counseling, family issues/conflicts, safety concerns, discharge coordination, and access to community resources.
