Senior Financial Analyst

SUMMARY

KODA Resources is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Senior Financial Analyst to support financial planning, strategic decision-making, and business development initiatives. This role will play a key part in guiding capital allocation, evaluating growth opportunities, and preparing materials for leadership and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of corporate finance or private equity experience within the oil and gas industry, and demonstrate strong financial modeling, research, and presentation skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain corporate financial models to support budgeting, planning, valuations, and strategic analysis.
• Support the company’s FP&A process, including forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Conduct financial, operational, and commercial development analysis to support both organic growth and acquisitions and divestitures and M&A opportunities.
• Prepare high-quality Board, management, and bank presentations that communicate key financial and operational performance insights.
• Partner with senior leadership and functional teams to evaluate and implement corporate strategy initiatives.
• Manage and maintain market research and macroeconomic data relevant to company performance and growth strategy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Accounting, Reserves, Land, and Operations.
• Monitor key performance indicators and provide ongoing support for executive-level decision-making.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may provide project-level guidance and collaborate cross-functionally.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required.
• 3+ years of corporate finance or private equity experience, ideally in oil and gas, required.
• MBA or CFA designation preferred but not required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Expert-level proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Excel.
• Familiarity with upstream oil & gas financial metrics, A&D activity, and capital markets preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex analysis into actionable insights.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and team-oriented mindset.

LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentation materials.
• Comfortable interacting with senior leadership, external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

REASONING ABILITY

• Able to analyze complex financial data and extract meaningful insights.
• Exercises sound judgment in supporting both tactical and strategic initiatives.
