Job Description

On N On Community Child Care is seeking a reliable and qualified Educator (Group Leader) / 7D Driver for our after-school program in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This dual-role position combines supervising and engaging school-age children in educational activities with providing safe student transportation. We are looking for a dependable, responsible, and positive team player who enjoys working with children and is committed to student safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of verified work experience with school-age children in an EEC-licensed program
• Must provide a completed Verification of School Age Work Experience form
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required
• Valid Massachusetts 7D School Pupil Transport Certificate required before receiving an official job offer
• Applicants without current 7D certification must be willing to obtain it as soon as possible
• Must successfully complete the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC) and applicable transportation background checks
• Must meet applicable Massachusetts EEC qualifications and training requirements
• First Aid and CPR certification required or obtained within the required timeframe
• Strong communication, organizational, and student management skills
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, and coworkers
• Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to student safety

Job Responsibilities

After School Program Responsibilities

• Supervise students and maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities
• Support arts and crafts, games, and other daily program activities
• Assist with lesson planning and daily program schedules
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, attendance, and daily routines
• Supervise students during indoor, outdoor, and school vacation activities
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and activity areas
• Collaborate with educators and supervisors to address student needs
• Follow Massachusetts EEC regulations and company policies

7D Driver Responsibilities

• Safely transport students between schools, program locations, and other authorized destinations
• Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules
• Maintain student safety and appropriate behavior during transportation
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow Massachusetts 7D transportation regulations and company safety procedures
• Complete required transportation records and reports
• Communicate transportation issues or student concerns to supervisors
• Attend required driver training and safety meetings
• Maintain all required driving qualifications and certifications

7D Licensing Assistance

Applicants who do not currently hold a Massachusetts 7D School Pupil Transport Certificate may still be considered.
The company may provide assistance with the 7D licensing process after completion of the 7D Driver Training Agreement.
Candidates must obtain the required 7D certification as soon as possible and before receiving an official job offer for this dual-role position.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, approximately 25 hours per week, including morning and afternoon transportation shifts
• Program-Dependent Flexibility: Hours may vary based on transportation routes, program schedules, and site needs.
• Additional hours may be available during school vacations and summer programs.
