Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 33 days Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) Experience: 1+ year of experience in skilled nursing facility or long-term care preferred License: Active RN license in the state Certifications: CPR/BLS Card, Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Must-Have: Knowledge of Gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices Understanding of residents' changing medical, physical, and psychological care needs Familiarity with regulations governing professional nursing practices Description: Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit, as ordered by the physician and within scope of license. Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding the residents' medical, social, functional, and other needs. Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports. Communicate with residents, families, and staff as necessary to ensure appropriate resident care from the interdisciplinary team. Perform the initial admission nursing assessment on newly admitted residents. Assist with the development of Minimum Data Set assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans. Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress. Lead and perform limited supervision of subordinate staff and assist with direct resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs for regularly employed staff. Utilize problem-solving methods and tools for continuous work/process improvements and efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned related to the position. Understand practices and procedures involved in developing treatment plans for resident/patient care. Apply effective oral and written communication skills. Build interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively within the team. Learn, implement, and monitor methods for process improvement and efficiency.
