Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for multi-categorical needs
• Experience working with primary-aged students, especially those in self-contained or specialized settings
• Expertise in developing and delivering tailored educational plans for students with DD/AU
• Strong collaborative skills to work alongside other educators, specialists, and families
• Effective classroom management techniques and ability to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction to students in a self-contained classroom, focusing on individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and modify teaching strategies to accommodate the specific developmental and learning needs of each child
• Monitor student progress, assess outcomes, and adjust interventions as necessary
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s academic and social-emotional growth
• Create a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings as requested by the administration
