Registered Nurse II(RN) Labor & Delivery Full Time Days

Job Summary Day shift – 12 Hour (United States of America). The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, practicing in an evidence-based manner within the scope of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. The RN performs all steps of the nursing process—assessment, interpretation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. The RN coordinates care with other providers and acts as an educator to the patient and family, providing the knowledge and skills needed to manage their care and prevent complications. Essential Functions Assess patients by collecting and documenting data through interviewing, history taking, and physical assessment. Obtain accurate assessment and interpret data as normal or abnormal. Determine nursing diagnosis. Monitor and evaluate data frequently based on patient stability. Safely perform and document care plans consistent with standards of care. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and monitor patients for adverse responses and side effects. Assess patient/family level of understanding and document information on clinical records. Create and maintain a climate conducive to healing through presence, identification and management of discomforts, emotional support, and education. Teach needed information for self-care and illness prevention to patient and family members. Recognize and communicate ethical and legal issues to proper authority, completing incident reports. Perform all provision of care for any age-related needs of the patients served on the unit. Attend meetings and serve on departmental or hospital committees as assigned. Support the achievement of department strategic and organizational goals. Perform all duties in accordance with the C-I-Care Standards of the Hospital. Job Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Experience: Minimum of one-year prior acute care RN experience required; minimum of one-year prior Labor and Delivery experience required. License/Certifications: Current CA R.N. license; Current American Heart Association BLS certification; Relevant departmental certification as required (e.g., PALS, NRP, ACLS). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language; strong attention to detail; ability to problem solve and adapt to a changing environment; ability to use information technology for communication, knowledge management, and decision-making; ability to work as a valued team member as well as autonomously; ability to influence others positively to meet patient needs; ability to effectively prioritize to provide quality and valued patient care; knowledge of healthcare principles, practices and current trends; clinical management, leadership, coordination, and operational direction experience. Base Pay Scale Generally starting at $77.69-95.52 per hour.
