Automotive/Diesel Mechanic 2026/27

Automotive Mechanic

There is an opening for an automotive mechanic in the transportation department of East Irondequoit Central School District. This is a 12-month, 8-hour per day position working 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch.

Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

Preventative maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
Diagnostics: Use computer software and diagnostic tools to isolate engine, electrical, and mechanical failures.
Safety compliance: Ensure all brake systems, emergency exits, and suspension components meet DOT regulations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date work orders and repair logs.
