Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift Full Time Technical Winston - Salem, NC, US Dewey's Bakery, Inc. Job Description Job Title : Maintenance Mechanic Shift : 3rd Hours : 8pm-6am - Must be able to work overtime including weekends Location : Winston Salem Summary: This position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance support to two manufacturing facilities including scheduled maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, installation, and set-up task on the equipment, machinery, and buildings as required. An employee in this class must have the flexibility to be on-call, as this position is a part of a team who helps support 2 manufacturing plants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and works effectively with a team to proactively handle maintenance needs as they arise Removes defective parts and installs new parts Inspects machinery regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting schedule testing as appropriate. Monitors, identifies and responds promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in machines performance. Installs equipment, electrical components and fixtures. Welds metal parts, components, or structures Accurately completes paperwork and maintains maintenance logs Maintains a schedule for inspecting, servicing and testing machinery. Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action. Follows facility and industry best practices, SOP’s, and other safety guidelines; understand how to comply with all workplace safety standards Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Communicates effectively with co-workers and management.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Valid Driver’s License Must possess an excellent working knowledge of electrical, welding and general maintenance and repair skills 2 to 4 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or equivalent educational experience in a maintenance capacity. Working knowledge of power tools, hand tools, cranes, hoists, etc. Strong troubleshooting experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
