Test Lead

Job Summary:

The Senior Test Lead is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive manual testing strategies across multiple applications and environments. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality delivery through detailed test planning, defect management, and supporting Agile processes. The Senior Test Lead will also facilitate knowledge transfer and maintain thorough testing documentation to support ongoing operations. Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases/scripts, test data, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute manual testing including functional, integration, regression, accessibility, performance, load, non-functional, and post-implementation testing.
• Test application integrations, interfaces, and non-functional requirements such as system response times, security, and accessibility.
• Evaluate test results against business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria ensuring traceability and coverage.
• Identify, document, track, validate, and manage defects using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) including preparation, facilitation, defect management, and validation.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and results through Agile ceremonies and project communications.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities to support quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve defects, and manage testing dependencies.
• Maintain complete testing documentation and provide ongoing knowledge transfer to ministry staff.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of QA/testing experience with expertise in manual testing strategies, test planning, and execution.
• Proven experience in integration, unit, regression, functional, UAT, accessibility (AODA), and non-functional testing.
• Strong knowledge of AODA/accessibility standards and testing practices.
• Experience testing data-driven applications including data validation, integrity, user roles, permissions, and workflows.
• Ability to create and maintain requirements traceability matrices.
• Proficiency in defect management tools such as Azure DevOps for defect tracking and validation.
• Experience conducting end-to-end testing across multiple systems and environments.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for test coverage.

• Complete testing documentation and artefacts transferred to ministry repositories.

Must Haves:

• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated QA/testing experience with manual testing leadership.
• Proven ability to develop and execute detailed testing strategies and plans.
• Experience with integration, regression, functional, UAT, accessibility (AODA), and non-functional testing.
• Proficiency in defect tracking and management using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Availability to work onsite three days per week.
