SCOPE

The assistant coach interacts directly with coaches, parents, and student‑athletes as a representative of Christian Academy. He/she is expected to live and coach in a manner that leads student‑athletes to righteousness in every area of life, especially through athletic development. The purpose of this position is to aid the varsity head coach in overseeing all coaches and discipleship for the specific sport, ensuring overall program development from the intramural to the varsity level. Qualifications A strong Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit that reflects continual growth in the knowledge of Jesus Christ Agreement with our staff commitment to live and exemplify the highest Christian virtues both in and out of school Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs align with our Statement of Faith A strong work ethic and effective interpersonal relationship‑building skills Belief that The Bible is the final authority regarding truth, morality, and proper conduct of mankind The ideal candidate shall possess: Strong commitment to Christian Academy’s Mission Statement and athletic philosophy Ability to encourage partnerships with parents, coaches, students, and other schools Managerial and coaching experience Accountabilities/Responsibilities Coach from a biblical perspective and strive to be a true reflection of Jesus Christ to athletes. Create a winning environment by displaying a positive attitude and providing daily encouragement to develop strong relationships. Teach athletes sound, safe fundamental techniques of the designated sport throughout the season. Promote honesty, integrity, humility, loyalty, unity, and encourage total character development. Complete all duties assigned by the head coach and Director of Athletics. Oversee field/gym conditions and report needs to the head coach. Complete inventory of equipment and uniforms and store them properly. Attend meetings with the head coach to ensure program continuity. Provide support for gate admission/scorebook for all home games within the sport. Outcomes Athletes instructed in fundamental skills, strategy, and training necessary for individual and team success as defined in the Christian Academy Athletic Handbook. Christ‑like relationships with students, parents, and administration. Clear verbal and written communication with students, parents, and administration. Student athletes receive instruction that fosters moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self‑discipline, and self‑confidence. Reporting Relationship The assistant coach reports to the head coach and Director of Athletics.
