CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR

Job Title
Representative Responsibilities of this Position:
Advance the mission, vision, and values of Mounds Park Academy.
Be present and ready to work as needed to meet responsibilities.
Provide an example of punctuality and attendance for all work shifts, meetings, open houses, etc.
Ensure the safety of students and be prepared to assist or manage a crisis situation (e.g., fire alarm, building evacuation or lock-down, etc.)
Plan and oversee all custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas.
Assign work requests to custodial staff and coordinate vacation schedules.
Set up tables, chairs, and other equipment for special events.
Perform repairs to buildings, mechanicals, furniture, and custodial equipment.
Assist the Facilities Manager with planning and coordination as needed.
Perform weekly inspections of the building.
Respond to emergency clean-ups and repairs.
Assist with the operation of building burglar alarm, fire alarm, and energy management systems.
Use a power lift to perform cleaning and repairs at heights of thirty feet.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Be an active, positive, and contributing member of Mounds Park Academy.
Display high integrity at all times and be a role model for students.
Communicate respectfully and effectively, following the Civil Discourse Policy with parents, students, teachers, staff, administration, visitors, and volunteers.
Support and facilitate the initiatives of the MPA strategic plan.
Support colleagues and demonstrate leadership with peers.
Understand and fulfill all aspects of the employee handbook.
Maintain appropriate boundaries with students.
Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as requested by the Head of School or as deemed necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the school in order to fulfill the mission of Mounds Park Academy.

Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee will occasionally climb ladders of various types. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Working Environment
The working environment is occasionally outdoors and therefore may include exposure to heat and cold. Job duties require working with chemicals and paint. The employee will work alone, with others in small and large groups, and amongst both students and faculty in a busy school environment. This includes frequent exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Five to ten years of experience in the same or related field
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Self-motivated, willing to learn, and highly organized with a very keen attention to detail.
- General experience in HVAC, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
- A sincere commitment to MPA's mission and the willingness to be a visible, enthusiastic brand ambassador. Passion for what is good for children and families
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills that are consistently applied to members of the MPA community
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to think independently and critically, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, stressful environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two to four-year degree a plus
- Ten or more years of experience in a school.
- Class C boiler license and, or HVAC experience
