Concrete Construction Carpenter

This role focuses on performing concrete construction tasks for slab-on-grade projects and concrete pads at a data center construction site in Manassas, VA. You will work hands-on with concrete, from measuring and cutting to forming and preparing slabs and pads, ensuring high-quality and precise work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform slab-on-grade concrete work, including preparation, pouring, and finishing to project specifications.
• Construct and prepare concrete pads, ensuring accurate dimensions and proper reinforcement as required.
• Measure materials, layouts, and work areas to ensure precise cuts and forms for concrete placement.
• Cut concrete and related materials safely and accurately using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Build, install, and remove formwork for slabs and pads in accordance with construction plans and safety standards.
• Assist with general construction and carpentry tasks related to concrete work and site preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all site safety rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with other construction team members to complete tasks on schedule and support overall project progress.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with slab-on-grade concrete work.
• Practical experience constructing and finishing concrete pads.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks related to formwork and concrete construction.
• Skill in measuring work areas and materials accurately for concrete placement and formwork.
• Ability to safely cut concrete and related materials using appropriate tools.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Capability to perform physically demanding construction work, including lifting, bending, and working on feet for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Familiarity with construction site safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow basic construction instructions or layout directions.
• Strong teamwork skills and reliability in a field construction environment.

Work Environment

This position is based at a data center construction site in Manassas, VA. You will work primarily outdoors or in partially enclosed structures, exposed to varying weather conditions typical of a construction environment. The role involves using standard construction tools and equipment for concrete, cutting, and formwork. Work is physically demanding and may require standing, lifting, bending, and working in noisy or dusty conditions. Appropriate construction attire, including work boots, long pants, and safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing, is required in accordance with site safety policies. Work hours typically follow standard construction shifts and may include occasional extended hours depending on project needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
